The historical spa town of Poděbrady lies on the Elbe river 50 km east from the centre of Prague , along the motorway D 11.
In the town, surrounded by meadow - woods and natural parks, you will find a beautiful setting for outdoor swimming in the lake, tennis courts and a riding school where you will be able to hire out horses for the day.
You can also follow the marked cyclist's routes for bracing rides through the picturesque surroundings of Poděbrady.

Along the colonnade you can listen alternatively to symphony orchestra concerts and chamber music recitals or wind band concerts.
In 1905 an exceptionally powerful spring of curative mineral water was discovered in the courtyard of the castle at Poděbrady. The carbonic spas with their ferrous water have been curing illnesses of the heart, circulatory system and blood vessels ever since.
